'What are The Best Acrylic Paints for Canvas?' or 'What is the Best Brand Acrylic Paints for Artist?' are two questions I get asked often. So I thought it was time for me to put together a little blog post about Acrylic paints and what your best options on the market are. I am sharing with you my personal collection of acrylic paints. With a wide variety of options, from craft-grade paint to professional, something for everyone's budget and skill level. Golden Acrylic PaintsThe Golden paints line is a professional grade paint (aka $$$$) but also VERY good in quality. You absolutely get what you pay for, in a good way. They have a wide variety of color options as well as type of acrylic paints. I most often buy their Fluid Acrylic and High Flow paints. They are more 'liquidy' and the High Flow paint is translucent, great for playing with layering colors. I also have a few tubes of the heavy body paints and open color jars as well, I just REALLY love the liquid + high flow line. No other brands versions of it compares (in my opinion). The Golden Fluid Acrylics Titanium White and Titan Buff are my two favorite types/brand of white paint to use. Since it is on the pricey side, I try to buy it in the bigger bottle to get more bang for my buck, as I use a lot of white. The Golden paint brand is one of the Best Acrylic Paints for Canvas You can buy and can be found at craft stores like Michaels , but they will not have as many fun options in colors. I suggest going to a Binders, Sam Flax or Utrcht type art store. OR there is always Amazon! Royal & Langnickle Acrylic PaintsRoyal & Langnickle is a great company that has been around for a long time, offering a wide variety of products. I actually use to order their line each year for my classroom, back in my teaching days. Their paints (and other products) are good in quality and affordable in price. You can purchase online or in person at Hobby Lobby or other craft stores. (psst! : I love their paint brushes!) Liqutex Acrylic PaintsLiqutex is a professional grade brand and another one of the Best Acrylic Paints for Canvas and that an artist can use. They also have their *cheaper* Basics line, that is actually still really good in quality. Very comparable to the Golden line of paints, it carries the Heavy Body + soft body paints. But opposite of the Golden line, I like their heavy body paints the best. So I mostly buy (or invest, as these are the pricey ones) in the Liqutex Heavy Body paints. Deco Art Acrylic PaintsDeco Art paints is a GREAT brand and one that I have been using since high school. I knew them best for their craft paints but in recent years came to learn that they also offer a wide range of products varying in price + purpose. For instance, they carry a line specifically for painting on Patent leather, which was perfect for painting the back of my patent-leather jacket for my wedding! #foreveraBURDEN I use DecoArt acrylic paints for more than just craft projects, though. They work just as well on canvas and have so many color options at an affordable price. When I want to play around with new color combo or looking for a specific shade thats hard to find, I can usually find something close with DecoArt. OH, and I LOVE the Mister paints. I honestly didn't think I would use them much when I got them, but surprisingly find myself using them often- the blue is my fav! DecoArt Paints can be bought at crafts stores like Hobby Lobby , Michaels and Jo Anns (psst! : even walmart!!!). Other Good Acrylic Paint Brands for ArtistSome other great brand acrylic paints that I use regularly are: I feel like it is hard to come across really good metallics, and these are the best that I have found. The Martha Stewart brand works really well and is a good shade of gold, not too yellowish. The large copper of paint I stubbled upon at Binders during a sale, and really love it a lot! I try to keep my paints semi organized and buy brand. I would love to have a uniformed way to store them all one day. I really like the clear (makeup) tray I got and the white pegboard. It's just right now, not a lot of space/money to do all the Pinterest goals-studiOH stuff, you know?! Psst!: Are you signed up for my news letter? If not, sign up here! You are missing out on sales, sneak peeks, and love letters from moi, if you aren't on the list!
