Hey y'all, So its been well over a month since I last blogged. And I really don't know why I've been so out of the swing of things in the blogging world. I guess I got burnt out + lost all momentum, but do know I still love you all so much and this little space of the internet that we have created. I would never take it for granted and do not mean to abandon it for so long! A lot has happened in the last month. I officially started my new job- which I LOVE so so much. I am the content marketing manager at Blue Sky Papers + Claire Magnolia now. I go in 3 days a week and then work one day from home. It is wonderful, and has added so much more balance to my life- which I was severely lacking while teaching. I celebrated my 27th birthday! WHAT THE?!?! I know...crazy, can't believe I'm nearly 30! [ remember this super cute post from when I turned 25?] I also opened up my 1st solo show at Hodgepodge Coffee House, which was truly such a honor and the very coolest experience ever. I am so thankful to Lynne + the whole team at Hodgepodge for the wonderful opportunity. It was truly such a joy to see all of my work up + displayed and to see others see + experience it was AMAZING! I have a big smile on my face right now as I'm typing and remembering that night. CLOUD 9 Y'ALL! Below are pictures from the show. Some from me- leading up to the show/setting up, then some from Kelley Raye as well as a few I grabbed from Instagram. Just click photo to go to source if not from me. ............... [ c l i c k r e a d m o r e t o s e e m o r e p i c s ] ----------> The show was titled 'Paint Life Grand?!' and was my abstract interpretations of things in everyday life. Such as a series entitled 'Traffic Trifecta : The Connector, The Perimeter, and Spaghetti Junction' (all highways in Atlanta). Or a series inspired by urban decay and cracked concrete. and Also, my favorite study of abstract succulents with titles like 'Fronds Forever', 'Don't Be a Prick', and 'Hug Me'! I really wanted to display a variety of works I had been dreaming up and of course wanted to show my use/love of color too. So far the response from the show has been great, and it has just been the best to hear what people think about it all! If you missed opening, the show will be up through the end of March and stay tuned for more info about an up coming workshop at the the end of March! Thank you again to everyone who came out to the show opening + to everyone who has be snapping pics + sharing them online! If you go up to Hodgepodge to see the show, take a pic + tag me @myfriendcourt + #paintlifegrandMFC + #iliketoARTYhard
