Hello + Happy Wednesday! We've made it half way to the weekend! AND boy 'O boy, this week has been a doozy! I'm STILL sick, I can not seem to shake this head cold- and being a teacher//having to use my voice all day is catching up to me, so currently I sound like a man frog. But feeling much better than I did. Oh and did I mention that I also survived my first field trip with pre-k?!?! Every year I take each grade level on a field trip, but I have never done so with pre-k. It's very nerve racking taking 20 + 3//4 year old children out in public in the city, and being responsible for them It went wonderfully though! Anywho, this week for #WednesdayWeWearArt I choose #PopArt to be our inspiration. This is a very BROAD theme, so lets just talk a little bit about what pop art is exactly. Pop art is an art movement that emerged in the mid to late 1950's, become POPular in the 1960's in the US + Britain. When I teach my students about pop art, I tell them to be reminded that pop art and pop culture go hand in hand. Pop artist challenged traditionally fine artist by pulling imagery that was already POPular in the every day culture- and turned it into art [usually in a larger than life way]. So pop art is very much still alive and being created today. That maybe a vauge explanation of what pop art is, but enough for you to get the jest of it! We will be going more in depth with pop art, as we explore different pop artist through out the weeks. Today though, I am sharing with you a few of my favorite pop art pieces that inspired my outfit//location for this shoot.
