Hello + Happy Wednesday! And on Wednesday we wear art! Today's inspiration was the most famous lady//painting in the world : MONA LISA. or as my students and I like to joke "Momma Lisa". I have a poster of Mona Lisa hanging at the front of my classroom. The way Leonardo Da Vinci [the artist] painted her eyes, it looks like she is always looking at //watching you [like a momma]. The Mona Lisa portrait was painted 1503-6 by Leonardo De Vinci. It was a commissioned piece that was never given to the intended owners. There are many 'theories' behind this painting + who that women actually is. So I will tell you the most common//well proven one. The lady in the portrait is said to be a pregnant, who is also in mourning over losing another child a couple of years before. Hints the [hardly noticeable] sheer, black, mourning vail you see delicately placed atop her hair. The thing that is most intriguing to people about this painting is- Mona Lisa's smile [not talking about the movie]. Its hard to understand this half smile she is giving the viewer, paired with a blank, but striking stare. Also, as I said before, her eyes that seem to follow your every move too. So honestly, coming up with an outfit for this one was a bit more of a stretch for me. I certainly do not have a dress like hers, so I pulled from the colors in the painting [orange + green + black ], and then tried to channel a modern day Mona Lisa- if Mona was alive and walking, what would she wear? I felt that my eyeball clutch + eyeball earrings [don't forget to use the discount code ' EyelovecourtNboo ' to receive 20% off your boo + boo factory's online store] were appropriate for this outfit, since Mona Lisa is ALWAYS watching! ![]() Next week's inspiration is contemporary artist Jeff Koons. That is him + one of his pieces to the left. Google image search his art + get inspired Remember, don't over think it! Psst ! : The doors close tomorrow to Hilary's FREE style videos + I believe in what she is offering you in her style class soo much, that anyone who lives in the Atlanta area and purchases her style class- I will offer you one of my painting parties to for FREE!
