Happy Wednesday + happy We Wear Art day :) Can you believe that it is already NOVEMBER! This year really is 'flying' by [as they say]. AND all of a sudden, this weekend- here in Atlanta, it got COLD! I was actually FREEZING while shooting this outfit, luckily it took all of 10 minutes to do, then I was back inside and into my PJ's [we shot these on our roof]. Today's inspiration is Russian painter, Wassily Kandinsky. This week, I just choose [just] one of this paintings to be inspired by called- "Several Circles- [Einige Kreise]". Over all though, he has a vast body of work, that started out much different than where he ended his artistic career. He attended Moscow University, studying law +economics and actually didn't even take up art until he was 30 years old. Kandinsky was credited with creating the first abstract work of art. He was interested in the relationship between colors + forms and their psychological + spiritual effects on its viewers. To him, color was more of an expression of emotion, rather than an accurate description of the subject matter. The sequin skirt also reminds me of the painting because I think the orbs in Kandinsky's painting look like little sequins.'s I also wanted my boots to appear to be floating in a black abyss, just like the orbs in the painting. Get the look: [ leather jacket : Gap // turtleneck : Target // belt : vintage // Scraf : Calvin Klein // Skirt : My Fiore Boutique // Boots : Ross Stores ] ANNND what's a photoshoot without a little bit of confetti?!?! From confetti bar! Next week's inspiration : Henri Matisse, look 'em up + get inspired! Here's a peak from me [he also had a wide variety of styles of working]! Psst! : Don't forget to enter the giveaway that I am doing with Craft Box Girls, to go to the Craft Box Girls Studio event this weekend!
