We have finally made it to the blistery wonderful season of joy- The Holidays. We are celebrating left + right here at My Friend Court and could not be more excited to show our true holiday colors everyday. Parker {The pups} has her sweater on and refuses to go outside without it; I suppose she was never meant to be a sled dog… I am tickled pink with all of the wonderful holiday treats we have seen//tasted just in the past week alone, but let’s not forget how vital it is to maintain a healthy balance of moderation. I am a sucker for mint + chocolate ANYTHING and here is my chance to take it all in like a squirrel saving his acorns. Over the years I have acquired some secrets to managing the six weeks of goodness that are- the Holidays. Here are my top three Holiday Moderation Secrets: 1. Water. The parties and get-togethers are certain to hold a multitude of wonderful eggnogs or pumpkin spice lattes. This is a risk to all holiday loving partygoers who are also aiming to keep the pounds off. Drinking a full 8oz glass of water before an event will help you curb the temptation to drink more of the calorie filled holiday cheer. 2. Taste. Tasting a smaller portion of the treats provided will allow you to try yummy things without over indulging. Just taste it instead of getting a full serving. After you have tasted the bite-size portion, you can then decide if it would be worth it to grab another serving. The best part about this strategy is that once you have tasted a bite of the treats, you may be full and won’t need to go back for a full serving of anything. 3. Dessert First! If you are a dessert lover like myself, you may find yourself in a predicament at holiday parties because you will eat the meal and then force yourself to try the amazing triple chocolate mint cake your Grandma Sue made. Eating dessert first not only allows you to enjoy the sweetness of holiday indulgences, but also makes you more full as you dive into the meal. You will eat less of the carb-loaded mac-n-cheese because you already ate your vice! {Go ahead, I give you permission to eat that dessert first!} Try these tips out at your next holiday gathering; let me know if they work for you! What are your holiday secrets for staying fit and fabulous? Psst! : Stay tuned later this week, as Court + myself give away the extra #MFCFriendsGIVING swag bags on our instagram accounts : @Klacole @MyFriendCourt !
