Soo this post actually has nothing to with Friday the 13th, I just wanted to point out the date ;) Does Friday the 13th remind anyone else of Freaky Friday? (The Disney movie) I always wished I could switch places with someone for one day- who would you switch bodies with for a da y if you could? Or would you? Anywho, back to what the post is really about. Last week Chris and I had a 1st date of our "12 Dates of Christmas" (we've actually had a few dates now- I just have been too pre-occupied to blog). It was my 1st surprise date (he is planning two surprises and so am I) and I wanted us to build a Christmas fort & watch Hunger games. Chris hadn't ever seen it before and one of our other dates is to go to AMC's dinner and a movie to see the second one. I read all of the books last fall and LOVED them. Which I was surprised by because usually I'm not into books like that. So I highly suggest the set if you haven't read them yet. Building the fort was a snap with the help of a boyfriend and a powerdrill! All we used was twine, 4 small screws, an old white sheet & 2 old sheer curtains for the sides. We made a bunch of paper chains at school for our x-mas program decorations and had plenty left over, so I brought them home for the fort. Sadly the fort fell down :( it was my fault- I step on one corner and the twine snaped. Then while trying to re-tie that corner, I pulled another corner until it snaped! And that was the end of fort time. Ha :) Here's a flash back to me sitting in a fort Leanna, Melissa, Tricia and myself all made on the porch 4 years ago on our spring break trip to the beach. Silly girls :) obviously, I'm an avid fort lover. |
