![]() A couple of weeks ago, I made the cutest pair of abstract tennis shoes. AND I am absolutely thrilled with how they turned out! I already had the colorful + gold paint, and was lucky enough to score the tennis shoes + leather shoe strings on CLEARANCE at Target! Even if you decide against leather shoes strings, you should still take the shoes strings out to paint the shoes. I even used the gold paint to change the silver little shoe string whole rings gold. {Its all in the details}. You can use a round, or a flat tip brush to apply the paints to your shoe- in short little brush strokes. Don't over think this step. If you are that nervous about messing up, then practice on a sheet of paper first to get a fill of how to use the paints + to make sure you like the colors you selected, once they are all together. *** T I P : Use the base color of the shoe in your color scheme. You shouldn't be covering up the base color completely with paint- incorporate it in the design {well unless you hate the color, and covering it up is the whole point!} Applying the gold was the last step for painting. You don't want to over kill it with the gold, and make it look cheap. I painted the black stripe around the shoes gold + a few dabs of gold on each shoe. This is a fun, easy + quick way for anyone to customize their tennis shoes! I love mine! Psst! Ladies, guess what?! My Friend Court now has an e-mailing list! YAY!
