![]() "Necessity is the mother of invention" a wise man once said. And that certainly is this case with this little D.I.Y. we have here! I am so thrilled, and surprised by how this turned out. It really was just one of those things that evolved as I started to create. I told Chris the other day, that it is amazing how creative and inspired I become when I have a cleared mind, and schedule! ; ) I have been on a painting/creating frenzy this past week. I have painted more paintings in one week than I did in a whole year! (About one a day- and I am so excited to share them all with you later!) Any who, My very bestest friend, Leanna just moved back from California after a long 3 1/2 years. Her Birthday was not to long ago as well, and we have always been lucky enough to spend it together (last year we met vegas for her 25th)! This year however, I was unable to make it out to the west coast to celebrate with her. So I wanted us to do a little something now that she is here. (She came over for an old fashion girls night sleepover, and girlie cocktails on the rooftop)! I wanted to give her a little something too, so I picked up some goodies, all of us girls love from Target; as well as some things that I knew that she would need for her new place, being that she just moved across the country. Like some Method dish soap, detergent, hand soap, cleaner, rubber gloves, sponges, super glue, tape, 3M mounting scares, scrubbers, raid, bug spray, etc. I had bought a basket to put all the house warming gifts in, but wanted to separate it from all the girlie things I had got her for her b-day, but of course I didn't buy a bag or anything. When I got home I couldn't find one either. I had a few days to go get a bag, but instead I got creative! I had seen this slice of cake box that you could mail before, so in my head I thought that was what I was going to make. Once I got started cutting the triangles though, I got a whole other idea! I knew I could create the perfect ice cream cone texture with the hot glue gun and acrylic paint. Man ole man, I love a glue gun! I even have a little painting that has a picture of a glue gun and says "So HOT right now"! Haha. Follow the pictures below to see just how a made this adorable ice cream cone gift basket. I was even thinking this would be soo cute as a party favor at a birthday party, or something too. It only took me about 30 mins to make. However, if you were making them in bulk, it wouldn't take that long for each one. You would work more efficiently, making an assembly line type thing.
Soooo cute, happy crafting!
