Hey gals + HAPPY #OnWednesdaysWeWearART day!!!

YES- you're reading it correctly- my weekly feature I like to call “On Wednesdays We Wear ART” is BACK! For those of you new around here, let me tell yuh about it + check out all my post from last ‘school year’  here.

‘On Wednesday’s We Wear ART’ is a series I started last year [about this time] where on Wednesdays I post an outfit I’ve worn inspired by an artist or piece of art. Its my spin on the movie ‘Mean Girls’ ‘On Wednesdays we wear pink!”. I took a little blogging break from it this summer but  I really do enjoy this weekly post, as fashion has always been a hobby/interest of mine and it is a fun + different way to be inspired.

I of course would love it if you joined in on the fun! Check out the hashtag #OnWednesdaysWeWearART to see how others have been inspired- like Liv of @UnbelievablyHuman or Jennifer of @HellRazor [who posted all summer long too! Dedication]! For me its been a really fun way to dress up and let my wardrobe inspire me in new ways!

SOO ANYWHO, this week the artist Martha Moore Porter is my inspiration for this post and she is such a fun and whimsical artist [and gal] who ooooozes in her own personal style + vision. I discovered her some time in the past year, when creating my Print All Over Me account- as she was the featured designer at the time. After a little inter-web stalkin’ I realized that she was also the master mind behind my FAVORITE KATE SPADE SATURDAY dress of ALL TIME! [see the picture of her in it below, the one with paint splotches]. If you’ve been reading for a while you know of my achilles heel for Kate Spade. It really sadden me when KS Saturday shut down, and I never even got my paws on this dress! Whomp, whomp!

Martha, or actually in my head ‘Buried diamond’ [her Instagram name] currently pursues her own brand full time [#girlBOSS] and has taken to creating fun + whimsy jewelry + charms + accessories + textiles! Today, I am inspired by her wonderful + playful use of color and her HANDS! Not the ones attached to her body [that’d be kinda creepy] but the ones she makes as charms! They remind me of my all time favorite artist + girl boss Frida Kahlo- who just so happens to be the very FIRST inspiration for this series, see it here [life always comes full circle- ;P right?!].
