![]() In honor of Valentines day, I will be shopping my closet (like I did for new years eve) to find the best Valentine Day outfit. Snow doesn't fall often here in Atlanta, so my boyfriend Chris and I knew we wanted to take some photos in the snow. I threw together an outfit that I'd wear on a date and we went to Grant Park to shoot. In these photos it doesn't even seem like we are in the city. Snow makes it feel so magical out. Outfit info: Skirt: Actually a vintage dress (same dress seen here) (similar one) Turtle neck: Black & white stripe from target (similar) fur vest: Old Navy (find similar here) Belt: Thrifted (similar) Leather Jacket: Gap (similar) Necklace: Vintage (chris' grandma's) (similar) Gloves: Target (similar) Boots: Target (similar) Stay warm out there!!! But mostly- just have fun, this doesn't happen often. SNOWLO!
Oh, and Ill be posting more outfits leading up to valentines day, and will do a little re-cap at the end :) xoxo, Court and P.S.- I actually wasn't freezing at all....I had fleece lined tights, fleece lined leggings and then leather leggings underneath the dress, with wool socks and boots. I was toasty! ![]() So as the whole country knows- Atlanta had a 'snow storm' that started Tuesday afternoon around 11:30. I was at work, until 2:30. We had a regular dismissal time, so as soon as the kids were gone, so was I. I do not work in a very good area of Atlanta and I was not about to get stranded there. Unfortunately, some of the teachers at my school did get stuck- or didn't make it home until the next morning. So I am VERY, VERY thankful that I made it home safe and sound. I did get down to 14 miles left in my gas tank, and started to worry- but luckily found a gas station and took back streets home. Despite all the chaos it has caused the city, we made the most of it. Tuesday night we hit the 'slopes' and got drinks with friends across the park. Yesterday Chris and I went out adventuring (had a little photo shoot) and grabbed some coffee. Thats the great thing about living in a neighborhood in the city- you can walk where ever you may need to go, and businesses stay open because they know they will make bank! Atlanta looks so beautiful under a blanket of snow. I will enjoy it while its here. Fingers crossed for one more snow day- as Monday is my b-day and this would make for the best early bday present! xoxo,
Court ![]() Happy Monday Everybody! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and have gotten your week off to a good start this morning! This weekend (in about 15 minutes) I did this little DIY heart sweatshirt. I had all the supplies just laying around the house. Chris and I went into the studio yesterday, so I took it with me to snap a few photos of how I would style it. I LOVE- LOVE, so I will be doing a lot of valentines day crafts and outfits on here I'm sure! Pictures and directions below! White collard shirt: Jcrew

I totally intended to share these photos with you this morning- however, I fell back asleep on the couch this morning and then ran out the door and forgot my computer and iPhone/ipad charger. My iPad had a battery life of 17 and my phone 54. Sooo, I didn't make it through the day, technologically speaking. My classroom got cleaned during my planning period though! Anyways, I am going to share one of my secrets with you! Every Sunday afternoon the kroger in the Edgewood shopping center (here in Atlanta) discounts their flowers. AND that just so happens to be exactly when I like to do my grocery shopping. (I am a creature of habit) I usually can snag me a pretty decent bouquet for 4 or less dollars. I'm talking anything from a dozen daisies to 2 dozen roses. It always amazes me. I got these flowers for about 6 bucks! 3 separate bouquets (not all flowers pictured) and some Florida Greenery $.99 (? I don't know- just what the package said). When I saw these flowers I instantly knew I wanted to make a crown! My favorite female artist, Frida Kahlo would always wear giant flowers on her head. So I wanted Chris to take some photos of me, like her. Frida Kahlo was not only a brilliantly, talented artist but a very strong woman and inspiration to all really. She over came a lot in her life, and expressed it beautifully in her art work. There is a wonderful movie about her life starring Salma Hayek, titled Frida. It used to be streaming on netlfix but now its only for dvd rental. Her diary was also published with the english translation in the back and it is really good too! I saw it is going for a crazy amount of money on amazon right now, which I am not sure why....I bought my copy hard cover, brand-new in college for $12. Granted I do believe I got it on sale. But even a used copy is going for over $100 now. I guess she has become super popular since then. ![]() She had a show at the High Museum of art last year, and this is a picture chris snaped of me with her. It was opening night & valentines day, so it was a packed house. I have another photo that my friend Paige took from when we went back, but I couldn't find it. (You weren't supposed to take photos) but I HAD to.
whhheww, that was a big post. Hope you enjoyed! Some photos were taken by me, the portraits were taken by Chris and the Frida pictures are from google.
